I saw the weed "Hotokenoza" on March
last year and two
years ago in our garden.

These are today's photos.
It seems that the opening of a flower is faster a month than last year.

Hotokenoza, "Hotoke" means Buddhist image, "no" means Of and "za" means seat in English.
So Hotoke-no-za means "SEAT of BUDDHIST IMAGE".
ahh! we have this plant all over the yard here in Nashville, Tennessee.
ReplyDeleteWe call it "henbit" or "deadnettle",
it is an important plant for honeybees as it helps them build their spring reserves of honey.

Hotokenoza is written as this "仏の座" in Kanji Character.
仏(ホトケ) = hotoke
の(ノ) = no
座(ザ) = za
