Here is rain water pails area in our garden.
I found out differential freezing ice in the area yesterday.
This picture is freezing ice of pailful water.
But this one is another freezing ice in a pail.
In this case, the pail did not have full water like this.
What difference condition was there between them except amount of the water?
Do a test: put full buckets in both locations. If one freezes more than the other, then you have different microclimates!
