Harvest #002-1 (a mustard family )

These are today's harvest.

These will be a filling of miso soup tomorrow.

Here is the mustard(Kakina) bed.

#007 Crocus

This flower is opening up at the same place like last year and two years ago.


Three weeks later, I picked up flowers and buds of strawberry again and again.

I am not sure that we will be able to eat a lot of strawberry fruits in this season.

Harvest #001 (potato)

I got the first harvest in this year at our garden.

I pick up weeds and them dug up this area yesterday.
I could catch these potatoes which get called in autumn potato.
Another one gets called in spring potato.


The picked weeds put under a citrus, Setoka.



I planted the spring potato on March 21 last year at same place.

I planted them yesterday.
That's faster one month than last year.

The weeds will be plant food for the Setoka.

#006 Hotokenoza "SEAT of BUDDHIST IMAGE"

I saw the weed "Hotokenoza" on March last year and two years ago in our garden.

These are today's photos.

It seems that the opening of a flower is faster a month than last year.

Hotokenoza, "Hotoke" means Buddhist image, "no" means Of and "za" means seat in English.
So Hotoke-no-za means "SEAT of BUDDHIST IMAGE".

A whack-a-mole

I found a whack-a mole at our garden the day before yesterday.

The following pictures are took this morning.

Snowing again yesterday night!

We used to see such whack-a-mole at there every this season.

But there were very tragic drams on a mole last year.

Amen!?!

Ikebana ( Single-flower vase )

AyeYai did flower arrangement using the the camellia flower yesterday.

This is a big Single-flower from nature yesterday.

I expect her works of Ikebana and her photographs this year again.

#005 Camellia Japonica

These pictures are the Camellia Japonica this morning.

It's first flower in the tree.

This bud will be second flower.

Third, Forth.............. ?

This is whole figure of the Camellia Japonica which has one flower now.

Sometimes it's a paradise for insects.

Freezing test - 1

I prepared several full and not full buckets at our parking space with roof like this picture yesterday snowing night.

I prepared them at two locations like above picture.

This is one location for the test without roof of parking place.
Another location is under the roof.

The following pictures were the result.

I could not have the different ices.

The snowing prevented my test.

I will continue the testing.

Differential freezing ice

Here is rain water pails area in our garden.

I found out differential freezing ice in the area yesterday.

It was very cold.

This picture is freezing ice of pailful water.

But this one is another freezing ice in a pail.

In this case, the pail did not have full water like this.

What difference condition was there between them except amount of the water?
