It's cosmos which was from her parents' yard.


Ikebana means Japanese flora art.

Trimming Chinese trumpet creeper and Shidaresugi

I did trim Chinese trumpet creeper and Shidresugi yesterday.
This is after trimming.


The following picture was taken on 31/August.

It was busy day yesterday for me.

Move the rose to our garden from the pot

This rose is the present for AyeYai's birthday from our son.

All flowers did shed, so I have moved it to yard from the pot today.


It will cover the fence years later like this.

The both pictures were taken two years ago.

I don't know this flower's name.

Bell Pepper (手間要らずのピーマン)

This Bell Pepper was planted on 8/Jun.

We can still harvest from it. The first harvest was 30/Jun.

It still bloom!

These are today's harvests.

Still, there are a lot of bell peppers on the plant.

I will try it again next year.

Hibernation of a toad?? (ｶｴﾙの冬眠)

I was preparing the strawberry field on the national holiday.

When I pull up a weed,
I found out a toad who is covered in mud.

Are you in hibernation already?

Is it a little bit early for that?
It's still the beginning of fall.

I have nothing to do with you.
Don't disturb me!

Leave me alone!
I have to look for a new place.

Next year preparation (Strawberry Part 2)

I can get many kind of plants at the place.
Potato , Eggplant, Cucumber,

Sweet corn, Boiled soybean, Tomato, The Highest Weed

and We will be able to eat a lot of strawberries.

Flower of a Cactus (サボテンの花)

It's was a national holiday yesterday.

So I could do observation this cactus when it's just blooming.

Last year, I could not have the chance.

Yes, I have done shoot it.

The highest weed in our yard.

I don't pull up the weeds in days.

So this weed is growing the highest weed in our yard.

But I don't know a name of weed.

It's more than two meters high.

Residents on the Japanese persimmon

It's gentle rain today, still raining.


There are a lot of Iraga on the persimmon.
I am not sure it has an English name.

Don't touch them which can paralyze you.
But I touched them two times today.


I found out two rain frogs on the tree.

Typhoon and Autumnal sky

These photos were taken at 7:00 AM.

Yesterday night, typhoon came over here.

But the typhoon did not direct hit here.

So it was not heavy rains without wind.

It's an exactly autumnal sky after the typhoon.

AyeYai's Birthday (誕生日 Tanjoubi)

Today is AyeYai's Birthday.

This flower is a kind of rose.

The name of the rose is Mokko Bara in Japanese.

Our son who works in Tokyo sent it to his mother from Tokyo.

Thank you for your present.

Recipe for Basil Juice

Red Basil Juice


Recipe for Red Basil Juice

[Ingredients]
・Basil (red) leaves ------- 500-700g
・Sugar -------- 800g
・Lemon ------- 1 - 2
・Vinegar ------- 1 cup(200cc)
・Water -------- 1500-1800cc

[Procedure]
1 Pluck 500-700 basil leaves.
2 Clean thoroughly with water.
3 Boil the basil leaves in 1500-1800cc boiled water for 10 to 15 minutes.
4 Remove the leaves from the boiled water.
5 Squeeze the leaves; put back the juice into the boiled water.
6 Add Sugar, Lemon squeezed juice and vinegar.
7 Boil for a moment.

*If your basil leaf is Green:
Green basil will be OK for juice, however; color is not good.
In order to get pink color juice, you may want to use red basil 20% out of basil leaves.

There is some being in this cycas revoluta.


It's a Rain frog.

Scale insect (カイガラムシ Kaigaramushi)

This cleyera japonica was cut recently

There are a lot of scale insects on some branches of it.


This is a kind of orange which was planted on 20th April/2008.

The both trees are very approximate.
I found out several scale insects on these branches of it this morning.
These scale insects are invaders.

I have disinfected it with bug killer this morning.
Actually I don't like to use any bug killer.
But it's unavoidable.

Next year preparation (Strawberry 苺 Ichigo )

This area was for sweet corns.

Now the area will be for strawberries.

I break soil, and them move and plant strawberries in the rest area.

It's not completion. I will do the work next week end.
