Yukitsuri (雪つり ユキツリ Yukitsuri)

Marna san
I would like you to do Yukitsuri for preventing your hard works and keeping your pin trees next season.

Please refer to the following URL about Yukitsuri.

It says the following.

Yukitsuri (雪つり) is a technique for preserving trees and shrubs from heavy snow. Trees are given extra support by bamboo poles with ropes attached to limbs; whereas, shrubs are often tied tightly around the circumference. Yukitsuri is a common sight in Kanazawa and Kenrokuen Garden during the winter months.

Give it your all! Ha..ha....ha........ha.........ha.............ha!!!!!

Hi Hero - I really appreciate the information. I might try it for small trees, but would not be able to do it with our Dogwoods which are as tall as our house. Where do they get the bamboo so tall to do all those trees in Kenroku-en?
They do an amazing job getting them all secured for the winter snows.
Here we just let the winter take its toll.
But I will definitely keep it in mind in the future for my smaller, more delicate trees, such as the pines that got buried this year.
