Downtown oasis in Tokyo

We were in Tokyo yesterday.
This picture's location is KOISHIKAWA KORAKUEN

The garden is in the middle of Tokyo.
Of course we visited here for taking pictures.

There is a rice paddy for elementary school students in just down the way.
It's a part of educational environment for the students.
They can plant rice and do rice reaping at the here.

I was in Tokyo for four years as a university student forty years ago.
But I did not know the garden. I know the place recently.

It's really downtown oasis.

How beautiful! Thank you for sharing this.

The rice paddy is such a wonderful experience for school children! we have something similar here, near Boston. It is a farm called "the Food Project". Children and adults can volunteer to plant and harvest food. I have volunteered there twice now.
