I have never eaten Kakina.
So, I examined Kakina by internet.
Kakina is a traditional vegetable only in North Kanto.

I did not know it at all!!

It seems like that.
But it's suprising to know that you have never eaten Kakina even though you live in Kanto.

Kakina is a kind of Nanohana.
The name of Kakina came from how you harvest its green leaves.

Kakina means the looks of picking off them.

"Kaku"(掻く) is to "Tsumu"(摘む)in our area and that's why we call the plant "Kakina".

"Kaki"(kaku) means "pick off".
"Na" means the green plant.
